Manama is the largest city in Bahrain. It has a population of about 150,000 people.
Manama is located on the Arabian Gulf, North on Bahrain Island. Manama is a well-known city as an important centre for business and tourism.
The history of the city dates back to 1958 when it was declared as a free port.
In 1971 it was declared as the capital of independent Bahrain. Manama has grown
and it has modern buildings, new suburbs, and modern malls.
Famous sights include Ras Elromman Mosque, Hoora is the only place in Manama that contains popular sights like; which stores premier Islamic manuscripts and an important cultural centre called the La Fontaine Contemporary Arts Centre.
From wherever you are in the city you can see the see, which mean that you can practise the water sports any time you choose. It has a considerably hot climate in the summer and a warm climate in the winter. It has some nice beaches for doing all types of water sports: diving, swimming fishing, sailing and windsurfing.
It is easy to travel to Bahrain through the Causeway, by ship or by plane, where it has a distinguished Airport. It is easy to move from one city to another due to a well controlled traffic system, and it's easy to find a car to rent, in addition to taxi and bus services
